Devon League Winter Pairs Final

After battling their way through five rounds, sometimes in terrible weather, Jo Beer and Dave Cheeseman played at the Devon League Winter Pairs final on Sunday as Team Wellington 1

As the first placed team in League A they had won 4 of the 5 rounds, had a 13 point lead over the second placed team and scored a total of 179 points.

The weather was kind on finals day and Jo and Dave played really well to reach the play-off for third place. In the lead at 12-7 their opponents then scored 6, so it wasn’t to be.

Congratulations to the other two Wellington teams – AliBarry (Alison Newberry and Barry Ede) and Salamanca (Geoff Sully, Eddie Gozna and Michael Wheatley) who all scored highly in their rounds. Thanks also to Mike Crew for stepping in when Dave Cheeseman wasn’t available.
